Heat pumps are becomming increasingly popular as an energy saving replacement to fossil fuel systems by offering up to 30% savings on heating bills and around 50% reduction in carbon emissions
The combination of installing solar PV and a heat pump system can eliminate heating costs presenting an excellent solution to spiraling fuel bills and the insecurity of fuel importation
Grants of 900 for air source and 1200 for ground source heat pumps are available to households from the Low Carbon Buildings Programme and VAT is reduced to 5%. Much bigger funding is available to communities, schools and charities.
